1. About these terms
These terms form a binding agreement between you and Fire Safety Nearby. By submitting an enquiry, creating an account, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to them.
2. Our service
Fire Safety Nearby is an introduction service that matches customer enquiries with independent fire safety specialists. We are not a fire safety contractor and do not provide fire safety services ourselves.
3. Customer obligations
- Provide accurate, complete information about your project.
- Use the platform only for genuine enquiries.
- Engage and pay matched specialists directly under your own terms.
4. Specialist obligations
- Hold all relevant insurance, accreditations and statutory registrations.
- Respond to enquiries professionally and within the timeframes you offer.
- Comply with all applicable fire safety legislation and standards.
5. No warranty on outcomes
We use reasonable care to match enquiries to suitable specialists, but we do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, fitness for purpose or compliance of any work carried out. Any contract for services is between you and the specialist.
6. Fees
Submitting an enquiry is free for customers. Specialists pay a per-opportunity unlock fee or other subscription fee as detailed in their account. Fees are non-refundable unless required by law.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees paid to us in the 12 months preceding the relevant claim. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
8. Intellectual property
All platform content (excluding user-supplied content) is owned by Fire Safety Nearby and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce or scrape platform content without our written consent.
9. Acceptable use
When using the platform, you must not:
- Submit false, misleading, duplicate or speculative enquiries, or enquiries on behalf of someone without their authority.
- Use the platform to send spam, marketing, or unsolicited communications to customers or specialists.
- Engage customers or specialists introduced via the platform outside the platform for the purpose of avoiding fees (anti-circumvention applies for 12 months from introduction).
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, reverse-engineer or bulk-extract any part of the platform or its data.
- Upload or transmit unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory or infringing content.
- Introduce malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with platform availability.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, accreditations or insurance status.
- Use the platform in breach of any applicable law, including UK fire safety, building safety, consumer protection and data protection law.
Breach of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination under §10, forfeiture of fees, and where appropriate referral to regulators or law enforcement.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, if fraud or abuse is suspected, or if required by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
